Describe symbolism in Chasing the Dime: A Novel by Michael Connelly

Although there isn't a lot of symbolism in the nove, per se, Henry, the main character uses symbolism in his work. His favorite movie and his favorite book serve as guides while he works to create the vehicle that will take science and medicine into the future.
