What happened to Levi Zendt. I hadn't heard about him until I found myself reading about his widow.

Levi becomes an important man in the area, and the place he and Lucinda (his wife) settle is eventually named Zendt's farm. Levi readily agrees that the name of the farm should be changed to Centennial.
