Why does Christine travel in an FBI sedan?

Christine waits at her apartment for the FBI to pick her up. This nightly ritual protects her from the glare of the media and makes it easier for her to get to the hospital. The FBI agents drive her to the service entrance of the hospital and walk her to the door of the hospital room where she can visit with Cross.
