What is Soneji's state of mind as he hurries through Bellevue on his way to the fourth floor?

Soneji hurries through the tunnels below Bellevue Hospital, feeling sick from the odor of dried blood and disinfectant. He is "wired" and "flying high" in anticipation of his killing Shareef Thomas. As he makes his way upstairs, he is a little nervous about the police headquarters on the main floor, but soon realizes that no one is there and that no one is paying attention to him in his medical disguise. He is sure that no one can stop what he has planned.
