Who is Deliwe?

Deliwe is a sex worker and runs a brothel in town. Deliwe is a strong and generally independent woman. Unlike either Getrude or Zandile, Deliwe has no partner or boyfriend. Over the course of the novel, she attracts Phephelaphi’s subtle admiration, and later, when Phephelaphi discovers that Deliwe has slept with Fumbatha, her jealousy.
