Margaret Moncrieffe was the daughter of a major in the British army. She was also General Montgomery's cousin. Margaret is a spy, who fulfills her duty by staying at General Putnam's house and sending pictures of flowers to her father. The flowers, however, are actually well-designed communications of troop movements.
