What is the point of the trembling of the Spirit’s hand in the graveyard?

Although the Spirit says nothing, the hand appears "to shake" as Scrooge laments his fate. The trembling of the Spirit's hand shows that the Spirit does care about Scrooge's destiny and that his fate can be changed if Scrooge actually changes himself.
