The early part of the story has many comic details, but these disappear as it progresses. Was this intentional on Wells’ part? If so, Why might he have organized it in this way? If not, do you, as the reader, find this change troubling?

This is only a short answer space but I can make a general comment. Wells wants to show how a power or ability like invisibility would corrupt any man. Any comedy disappears because of the darkness that this ability brings to the protagonist.
