Did the D.H.C know Linda was pregnant when she went missing?

or did he leave her there? And did the DHC force Linda to have a baby? How did she have John? and WHen she came in to his office was thomas embarrassed by the way linda looked or because of something else

We olny learn this through the Director's confession to Bernard Marx. He relates that, as a young man, he went to a Savage Reservation taking along a woman,Linda, who disappeared there. She was pregnant with his baby: this type of natural birth was frowned upon by the state.
