Young Claude and adults seem to relate to each other in a positive way. Mr. Weisfeld, the music store owner, sees promise in Claude's musical ability. Al Johnson, the maintenance man of a high-rise, befriends Claude and splits the money earned from collecting soda bottles in the garbage.
