Mr. Sanchez is a teacher the midnights find outside during the first non-midnight blue hour. He is outside the gym while the pep rally is going on, smoking. Mr. Sanchez is so involved with his own secret that he does not realize the five students appear suddenly when the blue time ends as abruptly as it began. This helps protect them unknowingly.
