What is the author's style in Blue Moon by Laurell K. Hamilton?

Blue Moon by Laurell K. Hamilton is written in the first person. The story is told from the point of view of the main character, Anita Blake, a vampire executioner and necromancer. The reader is privy to the thoughts and feelings of Anita Blake, as well as a deeper understanding of her character and the reasons behind her actions. An interesting addition to Anita's perspective is her ability to sense the feelings and thoughts of Richard Zeeman her lover and leader of a pack of werewolves, and Jean-Claude, the master vampire of St. Louis, who is also her lover. Because of Anita's powerful connection to these two men, the reader is also allowed access to their thoughts and feelings as time.

The novel is written in equal parts of dialogue and descriptive passages, which allows one to get a better sense of the characters as well as their surroundings. At times the descriptions do not have an important impact on the storyline, but do give the reader a better idea of the behavior of the characters.
