Who is Jody Stroud from Bloodsucking Fiends and what is their importance?

Jody is a self-conscious, needy woman who jumps from one short-term, live-in relationship to another until she is turned into a vampire. Jody gains newfound powers, but she is left with her worst nightmare: loneliness. Jody can never stand to be alone, and as a vampire, she has no one to share her life and her world with. The only other vampire that Jody knows about is the one who changed her, and he seems to be constantly disappearing into the shadows and playing a cruel game with her.
