Raoul Melendez-Lynch is a physician and researcher who is handling Woody's treatment. Raoul is self-serving and rude, believing himself incapable of making wrong decisions. The result is that he is outwardly pushy and drives people away with this attitude. Raoul does, however, have Woody's best interests at heart and drives a great distance in the belief that he can find the boy and force him to return to the hospital for treatment.
