Who is Ezra Maimon from Blood Test and what is their importance?

Ezra Maimon is the retired attorney who agrees to take the case when Raoul is arrested in La Vista. He later meets with Alex and provides a great deal of information about the Touch, the Swopes and the community. Alex is a horticulturalist who tells Alex about Mr. Swopes' failed enterprise.
