Do other people support Griffin when he tells them about his project?

Griffin tells his wife, friends at Sepia magazine, and the FBI about his project. All of the people Griffin tells about his project are initially taken aback by what he wants to do, and warn him that it will not be easy or enjoyable, but support him and allow him to go ahead with it.
