Goldfish necklace in "Into the Fold"

Eloise Sheen's goldfish necklace is a symbol of the homesickness and blustering behavior Kittredge King claims she and the other girls hate at the boarding school. Eloise received the necklace as a gift from her father and shows it off to the other students, obviously trying to impress them with his largess. This tactic does not succeed, as one of the other girls immediately proclaims the necklace to be a fake—gold-plated instead of real gold.
