What does Mercenary Work represent?

Mercenary work symbolizes the clash between morality and necessity. Although Tracker and Leopard appear to have consistent compunctions about the moral ambiguities of their history essentially as mercenaries, they appear to have no other recourse for making a living or forging a sense of identity. Necessity and their personal abilities have combined to thwart their senses of morality.
