Who are Mr. and Mrs. Bennett?

Mr. and Mrs. Bennett are Wes's parent. Liz has always known them because they live next door. They seem kind and caring and are typical of parents of this time and place. Mrs. Bennett chides Wes for leaving Liz standing in the rain one day, then provides cookies as a snack while they talk. Mr. Bennett comes to get them after Wes winds up in the ditch.
