Significance of The Mark

The Mark is a special tattoo. The tattoo represents special powers or special actions that are exceptional to the Goddess Nyx. For example, when Zoey saves Heath's life from the ghosts that Aphrodite loses control of during her ritual, Zoey receives the Mark. When Zoey saves Heath's life again at the end of the novel her tattoo or Mark grows. The Mark is on the face, shoulders, and back of the vampyre or fledling that wears it. Zoey is the only fledgling in history to have the Mark.
