What are your feelings about the main character, Jam?

I'm not sure where you are in the novel, but I find Jam to be a sympathetic character. She young and naive, and as such, she is open to misinterpretation and youthful mistakes. Her character is genuine, and teenage girls often find themselves in the same situation... wanting something to be true, such as her imagined relationship with Reeve, and truly believing that a relationship does exist, even when it doesn't.

When Jam finally allows herself to see how things really are, she is able to both empathize and advocate for others. Her life experiences begin to have an effect on who she is, and in turn, how she can help to change the lives of others.
