What is the general plot?

Alexander Kwame's and James Patterson's biographical novel, Becoming Muhammad Ali, is the story of Cassius Clay told through the narration of his friend Lucius and the poetry of Cassius. Cassius knew he would be great from the time he was young and took advantage of a local gym to learn to be a boxer. He saw becoming a boxer as a means of gaining freedom from oppression and from poverty. Cassius did not stop until he achieved that goal.
