Gus is Elsie's love interest. He delivers sweet rolls to the diner where she works. Kate tells Elsie to be careful, but Elsie with her dry wit tells Kate that at her age being careful takes too long. She and Gus rescue Kate when she's abducted by Anatole's buddies.
