All of the characters in Avalon High use language appropriate for their ages and occupations. The language chosen by the author helps to paint each character as an individual and helps to build suspense in the plot. Characters who are already aware of the Arthurian connection tend to use terms, patterns of speech and vocabulary which reveal their understanding of the reincarnation plot. Others who are not aware of the central plot do not.
