What interaction does Elisabeth have with Daniel at the end of the novel?

When Elisabeth goes to the care center to see Daniel, she learns that he is awake and has eaten a good lunch. She learns that he has been asking for her. When she goes to his room, at first he seems to be sleeping, but then he talks to her and he asks her what she is reading.
