When Elisabeth and Wendy go for a walk and find a fence blocking their way, Wendy says that she is tired. She is tired of the news and the way it makes things spectacular that are not and how it deals simplistically with the appalling. She is tired of the vitriol, the anger, the meanness, and the selfishness. She is tired of how no one does anything to stop those feelings. She is also tired of violence, lies, and the government.
