The Head of State, Mr. Thompson, actually believes that John Galt holds the secret of bringing the country out of its financial ruin without disbanding the government. He recognizes Galt's genius and thinks that one man can turn things around by making the people believe in him. Galt only laughs at them. Still, they plan to parade him around as the face that has all the answers. They think this will reassure the public and give them time to make things work their socialistic way. They tout Galt as the Economic Dictator.
