How does Aisha close her valedictorian speech in Section 14: Chapter 17?

Aisha admits she got scared, yet she does not tell her peers this to make them pity her but to understand what happened to her father. For all those years, her family believed they belonged here, that they could hope for a future, but the government took that hope away and broke Abba's heart as well as Aisha's.
