Written in poetic form, the opening introduces the book as a teacher. In first person narrative, the book talks of teaching about herbs and spells. It notes that if not carried and used the magic will wane. It states that there are ten times ten commandments that answer every mystery. A line reads that if the secrets are betrayed then the betrayer shall be doomed.
