Who is Woodrow Hamilton, Victoria Self, Mr. Wallace, Mr. Appleton from Answered Prayers: The Unfinished Novel and what is their importance?

Woodrow Hamilton, Victoria Self, Mr. Wallace, and Mr. Appleton are associated with Jones' history and practice as a prostitute. Hamilton is an acquaintance who introduces Jones to the very businesslike Miss Self, who in turn runs what would now be described as an escort agency.
