Who is Ann Hopkins and David Hopkins from Answered Prayers: The Unfinished Novel and what is their importance?

Ann and David Hopkins are the subjects of one of Lady Ina's stories. She reveals Ann's history, her ambition, and her determination to retain what she has achieved even when David is intent upon divorcing her.
