Who is Abena Badua in Anowa by Ama Ata Aidoo?

Abene Badua is Osam's wife and Anowa's mother. She firmly believes in tradition, and thus, has little understanding of her daughter, or her daughter's choices. She dispproves of Anowa's marriage to Kofi Ako, and the two even engage in a physical fight as a result. The fight results in Anowa's vow to leave and never return.
