In Annie on My Mind, Annie is the girl that Liza meets at the Metropolitan Museum. They start to have a mock sword duel and the guard stops it. We find out that Annie is from an immigrant family and that she has moved around alot. She loves music and has an avid imagination tha often gets both she and Liza into trouble. She's embarassed at her family's home and how impoverished they are. Though Liza helps her come to terms with her homosexuality, Liza is less successful in helping Annie be able to openly claim her gayness to her family.
