What does Roy have to say about a father's love in Act 2, Scene 4?

Roy speaks to Joe about fatherly love as they commiserate in Act 2, Scene 4. Joe feels his father was distant and may not have loved him, but Roy assures him that a father's love can be hard and distant. Mothers bring you into the world, but fathers see to it that you survive.
