How does Roy react to Joe's admission that he is staying with a man in Act 4, Scene 1?

Roy reacts violently to the revelation that Joe has left his wife for a man. He rises from his hospital bed - tearing out his IV in the process - and clutches hold of Joe. Roy tells him to leave the man immediately and smears Joe's shirt with blood. Belize has to separate the men and sedate Roy.
