In the beginning of Perestroika, Alexii - the oldest living Bolshevik - explains the perfection of the Theory that drove the Revolution, an exact marriage of idea and reality. He says that now, as the Soviet Union struggles into the new era, it has no Theory save the half-baked marriage of consumerism to the status quo in Russia.
