Fang is a fourteen year old boy who has escaped from a secret scientific facility known as the School. Fang is considered to be the second in command of the Flock because he is only four months younger than Max, the leader. Unlike the other kids, Fang knows that he has a mother, although she allegedly died as a teenager, leaving Fang to be altered by the scientists at the School.
Like the others, Fang is is 98% human and 2% raptor. Fang has large black wings with a span of approximately 14 feet which allows him to fly. Since Fang had never flown until his escape, he is still learning the best way to control his gift. Like Max, Fang also has the vision of a raptor, bones of a bird, and tremendous speed and strength.
All of the kids have alternate gifts in addition to being able to fly. Fang's gift is the gift of stealth. Fang is able to sneak up on people silently as if he has appeared out of nowhere. Fang also has the ability to seemingly disappear and blend into the background.
