Who is Virginie from Anecdotes of Destiny ; and, Ehrengard and what is their importance?

Virginie appears in "The Immortal Story". She plays the part of the beautiful lady in the story that Mr. Clay wants to bring to life. Sadly, Virginie's father was ruined by Mr. Clay, after which, Mr. Clay took over their home. She hates Mr. Clay, but she also feels obligated to accept Elishama's offer of 300 guineas to play the part in the sailor's story.
