Who is Phillippa from Anecdotes of Destiny ; and, Ehrengard and what is their importance?

Phillippa appears in Babette's Feast. She is the younger daughter of the Dean, who also never marries. Phillippa attracts the attention of Achille Papin, an opera singer, when he hears her singing in church. She ends the singing lesson that Achille gives her after he kisses her at the end of an opera scene.
