Who is Herr Soerensen from Anecdotes of Destiny ; and, Ehrengard and what is their importance?

Herr Soerensen appears in Tempests. He is the proprietor of a traveling theater troupe that sails up and down the coast of Norway, performing in various towns. Soerensen believes that Malli has great potential as an actress, and he chooses her to star as Ariel in an upcoming performance of The Tempest, by Shakespeare. He views the upcoming production of The Tempest as the culmination of his long life's work.
