Who is Arndt from Anecdotes of Destiny ; and, Ehrengard and what is their importance?

Arndt appears in "Tempests". He is the Hosewinckel's son. Arndt proposes to Malli, but he does not realize the hold that the theater has on her. In the end, she rejects him.
