James learns that it's not always book learning and education that are important but common sense, native intelligence and hard work. James is helpless at getting the enraged sow out of her pen but Stokill suggests using the dustbin which works perfectly and and helps James round up the piglets for their injection. Stokill is not self-congratulatory but straightforward and honest.
