What happens when James discovers a vesicle on the teat of one of the Bailey's cows?

At first James fears the cow has foot and mouth diseases and is about to call the Ministry of Agriculture but then he realizes the cow only has cow pox which she got from Mrs. Bailey milking her after bathing her little son who had just had a smallpox vaccination. Small pox vaccine is made using the cow pox virus.
