What happens on the evening when Siegfried tells Tristan to stay at Skeldale house all evening?

Tristan invites Lydia over and when he thinks he hears Siegfried returning he throws Lydia out the French window. Meanwhile the little dog as awakened and wandered off. James finds the dog and brings it back to Skeldale house. Sylvia doesn't forgive Tristan.
