All Quiet on the Western Front
When in the book does Paul feel lonely and depressed?
like when do he feel alone, sad, suicidal, overwheled
like when do he feel alone, sad, suicidal, overwheled
In Chapter Seven, Paul feels isolated and out of place while he is on leave visiting his family. He believe the visit would afford him peace and tranquility after his time at the front, but his visit was anything but, as his family and neighbors question him relentlessly.
He is also saddened by his visit to Kemmerich’s mother, whose desire to know her son died painlessly was difficult and depressing.
