Susan Smith was a young mother in South Carolina. She had a new rich boyfriend who sent her a note stating that the relationship could not continue because their backgrounds were too different and because Susan had children, and he did not want to be responsible for any children in this crazy world. So, Susan drowned her two small boys in a lake and blamed it on a black man who she claimed took her car at gunpoint. Eventually she confessed and was placed on trial and found guilty.
