What experiences did Rick have in Miami?

Rick saw the underbelly of Miami, the places where the homeless and the violent live. He met Ed Washington who slept with a long knife just waiting for someone to attack him. He met the Invisible Man who pretended no one could see him so that he wouldn't get hurt. He met transvestites and musicians, and all were homeless and afraid.
