Rick admitted the main difference between him and his father was luck. He had the same meanness, but he channeled it instead. He used his father's coldness in his work. Like his father, he took on no responsibilities, no home, no children. Rick didn't hate his father. He knew there was good in him. He still wondered whether his father thought of them when he was gone.
