Rafael Ponce de Leon lived in Carrasco. He was friends with Marcelo Perez. They were Old Christian teammates, but Ponce de Leon had opted not to take the trip to Chile. Ponce de Leon felt awful about the crash. He, too, was worried for his teammates.
