What is done in memory of those that were lost?

Twenty-nine of the forty-five original passengers and crew on the Fairchild did not return. In 1973, government officials erected a grave for the remains of the deceased. It is located about half a mile from the site of the crash and is sheltered from geological activity. It is marked with a cross and inscription.
